Jan 2010 - A Message from Peter Clark

Past Master Jack Lucraft was one of the 'founding' members of the Old Mercers' City Liverymen Association,  subsequently  the Civic Guild of Old Mercers'. One of three brothers,  all of who attended Mercers' School, two joined the association in 1949. Sadly Peter, the younger brother died some time ago. All three brothers joined the Cooper Company. Jack was Master of the Guild in 1955/6. By profession he was a member of The Baltic Exchange. On behalf of the guild I attended the funeral and met Jack's daughter although Rex, the eldest brother, was not well enough to attend. Jack died on 4th November 2009, aged 93. We honour his memory and the foresight of all the founding members.
